In August of 2000, European Papers was founded as a labour of love. Love of all things paper; antique documents, handmade, crafted and embellished, and hand bound books... A passion for contemporary craft, traditional printing techniques, art history, world culture, and teaching. Our studio is located in a charming, historic carriage house in the Discovery District of downtown Columbus, near the main library and Topiary Park. This new location (we moved in January 2004) allowed us to found the Columbus Center for Paper and Book Arts, devoted to education and community outreach. The Center includes a first floor gallery (with quarterly shows), workshop space for up to 30 participants and European Papers Studio Shop. Workshops are offered in the paper arts, bookbinding, collage, calligraphy, polymer clay and altered books. We are happy to have you visit us! Typically we are at the studio Tuesdays and Fridays from 11-5, as well as during "Open Studio Evenings", workshops and special events. Later in 2004, we hope to begin offering Saturday hours... If traveling, please call us to confirm (614-316-3948) as out-of-town conventions and teaching can vary this schedule. If you would like to visit at other times, we will try to accommodate you by appointment. Founded with an uncompromising commitment to quality products, "the fine and unusual", European Papers seeks out beautiful items from Europe and throughout the world. The joy for us is in the hunt and discovery. The satisfaction, in providing inspiration to other artists, opening their eyes to new techniques and principles of design. -------------------
